Since 1995, Montreal based Matt and Nat have been mastering the art of bag design, with an unwavering commitment to style and sustainability.
Stemming from a love of animals and care for the environment, their vegan (leather-free) commitment has driven collections composed of innovative materials including recycled nylons, cardboard, rubber and cork.
Since 2007, their bags have been lined with 100% recycled plastic bottles and they're currently recycling 1 million plastic bottles per year to manufacture their creations. Recycled bicycle tires have recently been incorporated into collections too. All of their products are made from sustainably sourced materials such as cork and rubber, and PU is used preferentially over the more environmentally harmful PVC.
The collections are all designed by the team in Montreal, and then produced in China in small factories they’ve had long-standing relationships with. In true slow-fashion style, Matt & Nat collections are tested for their durability and strength, to ensure your bag and shoe purchases will last a long time.
They’ve got a distributer here in New Zealand too, so don’t worry about about shipping costs. If you prefer to check out items in the flesh, click here for a list of NZ stockists or here for their global boutiques in Canada, the United States, the UK, Japan, Germany and Australia.
Matt and Nat has a pop up store in Ponsonby opening next week so be sure to check them out if you're in the Auckland area.
